 Tom
Weiher
Tom’s remodeling career was inspired by his father who ran a remodeling business out of the family home after retiring as an engineer. In 1979, Tom founded Carmel Builders, as a sole proprietor. Carmel Builders gradually grew and is now recognized as one of the most respected Design Build Remodel firms in the area.
Since the company joined Milwaukee NARI in 1988, Tom has been an active member, serving on numerous committees. In 2003, he was elected to sit on the Board of Directors. He served as Vice President from 2006 though 2008 and in January of 2009, Tom became Milwaukee NARI’s President.
Over the years Tom has been frequently invited to speak at local area colleges and high schools and for five consecutive years he has been recognized by Milwaukee NARI with personal achievement awards for his professionalism, commitment and integrity. In 2006 he received national recognition as recipient of the distinguished Harold Hammerman Spirit of Education National Contractor of the Year Award.
Tom believes balance in life is important and is an active member of his community, contributing time and talent in a myriad of ways. He has always made time for family which includes his wife and partner in business, Barbara, oldest son, Louis who is also a business partner, other adult children, Ben, Mary (her husband, Scott), Christina and Joe. Tom’s favorite little buddy is grandson, Zachary - soon to be three! Soon he hopes to have Zach join him in his favorite pastime and passion – fishing! When time permits, you’re sure to find Tom in his boat on the water with several fishing rods over the side!

 Barbara Weiher
Although, integrally involved with Carmel Builders since its inception, Barbara officially joined Carmel Builders as a full time member of the team late in 2002. After 17 years in Financial Services, moving into the family business was a quite a change – but since making the decision she has never looked back.
As the company’s Marketing Director and COO, she’s played a major role in Carmel Builders’ branding campaign. She oversees Carmel Builders’ marketing plan as well as daily office operations. A “people person”, she makes it a point to get to know as many clients as possible and considers many clients her friends.
Barbara has a passion for outdoor activities of any kind but especially enjoys hiking in summer and snowshoeing in winter.
Singing is an avocation for her, and was actually her profession for years before she met Tom, married and started their family. Through the years she continued to sing, professionally with bands, in her church and for community events. Her band, Scotch & Soda plays regularly at the Fox and Hounds as well as for corporate parties and community festivals. She is delighted to say that her family is among her biggest fans!
She shares the joy of grandchildren with Tom! Zachary & Riley are a source of constant enrichment and happiness.

Ann Weninger, our
staff designer and one of our salespeople, has
10 years of experience in residential remodeling
design.

and product knowledge to our customers. She combines
her design creativity, construction and product
knowledge and understanding of cost to create

in remodeling.
When she’s
not working Ann can be found planning projects
for her own home in Shorewood. In nice weather
she prefers to be outdoors gardening, exploring
a park or simply relaxing in the shade.

 David Curtis
Production Manager
David comes to Carmel Builders with over 30 years experience in the construction industry. Starting his career here in Wisconsin while still in high school, David married his college sweetheart and moved to North Carolina, where he owned and operated a small but successful construction business specializing in historic restorations. After almost 20 years in the warm and sunny south David and his family returned to the Milwaukee area.
Settling in Pewaukee, he was an active member of his community, serving for 5 years as a member of the Pewaukee Board of Appeals, a 20 year active member of Rotary International, and involvement with several local and national charities.
Recently David and his wife of 29 years moved to a farm north of Milwaukee to enjoy a slower pace, and their growing family. Their move also allowed David and his family, all of which are avid Harley-Davidson Enthusiasts, more time and more roads to explore on their customized bikes. David has been a life-long motorcycle enthusiast, and now enjoys a new shared passion of restoring and customizing vintage cars with his son.
With David’s experience comes his commitment to quality, a real passion for doing things the right way, and a common sense style of management.

Art has more than 15 years of experience as a carpenter. When he joined Carmel Builders in 2001, we soon recognized his innate ability to make our clients feel comfortable. He exudes confidence, efficiency and professionalism. It’s no surprise that Art says problem solving is one of things he enjoys most about his work.
