Carmel Builders is honored to be part of the 2006 Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz taking place June 5-9, 2006. From start to finish, ten homes will be built in one week! Since August of 2005 Carmel Builders, along with eight other Metropolitan Builders Association builders, has attended meetings, hammered out issues, worked out schedules and solicited lots of help!

The Home Builders Blitz 2006 is the largest Habitat project of its kind in the United States giving many low-income families the opportunity to own their own home. Over 400 homes will be completed from start to finish in a week across the country. Milwaukee’s build is tied for the fifth largest number of homes built by an association in the United States as part of this nationwide campaign.

“Partnering with the Metropolitan Builders Association allows Milwaukee Habitat to continue its efforts in Milwaukee in building a better community by making housing affordable. We are so grateful these homebuilders are joining us to increase the number of homes we could build this year,” said Sara Kierzek, Executive Director, Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity.

“It’s been inspiring to see how the community and especially our friends and colleagues have pitched in,” says Barbara of Carmel. “The effect of building simple, decent, affordable homes for hardworking families is far reaching. Not only will families have homes they can be proud of and build their lives around, but the community is strengthened. Children are influenced by good examples of stewardship and responsible citizenship. No doubt there are many life changing stories we’ll never hear. Pretty incredible what happens when people help people!”
